ABOUT
Atefeh is an MSCA Doctoral Candidate driven by a deep passion for understanding physical phenomena and enhancing the quality of life through engineering. Her main expertise is in advanced fields such as composite structures, Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), damage detection, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), with a particular interest in Finite Element Modeling (FEM) and machine learning. Beyond her professional activities, she enjoy exploring new research, reading, and traveling to embrace unique experiences—activities that keep her motivated and dynamic in achieving her long-term goals.
Objectives
- Design and fabricate CFRP panels with embedded or surface PZT arrays.
- Accelerate CFRP ageing via mechanical, thermal, and moisture tests and analyze damage.
- Use ultrasonic guided waves and ML to assess damage and predict remaining useful life.
02
Expected results:
- Novel smart monolithic CFRP structures with integrated PZTs including their mechanical analysis.
- In-depth understanding of the interaction between GWs and material ageing.
- Sensitive system for damage assessment and prognosis in CFRP panels and wind turbine blade sections.
