ABOUT
Navaneethakrishnamoorthi was born and raised in Kalyan, India where he subsequently completed his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai. Following this, he completed his Masters in Non-Destructive Testing from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli in 2021. For his Master’s Thesis he worked at CNDE, IIT Madras on Broadband frequency and wavelength EMATs for remnant wall thickness measurement. He then worked as a Researcher at Tata Steel Ltd., Jamshedpur where he developed NDE solutions for process control, product quality assurance and predictive maintenance with a focus on steel supply chain. Apart from this, he is an avid sudoku player, enjoys driving and he is currently learning chess.
Objectives
- Develop AI/ML methods for ultrasonic GW tomography to identify and image damage in aerospace smart FRP composites under various environmental conditions.
- Characterize CFRP composite stiffness degradation and predict Remaining Useful Life (RUL) using ANN andBayesian algorithms based on GW data.
02
Expected results:
- Automated SHM GW-based systems for damage assessment of smart aircraft sandwich structures under real aeronautical EOCs.
- Enhanced damage diagnosis capability of ultrasound tomography under simulated space-vacuum condition.
- RUL estimation of smart CFRP composites
